Analyzing a Customer Account - 20b

Purpose:  Analyze a customer account using ctcLink.

Audience:  Accounts Receivable staff.

Aging accounts receivable is the process of updating the age of customers' outstanding items based on the the item accounting date.  In order to properly manage accounts receivable and cash flow, you should age the items at predefined intervals.

Analyzing a Customer Account

Navigation:  Accounts Receivable > Customer Accounts > Customer Information > Customer History

You are now on the Customer History page.

  1. Select the Customer field. Enter the desired information.
  2. Select the Search button.

Use the History page to view both user-defined and system-defined history. 

Next, navigate to the Profile page.

  1. Select the Customer Information menu.  
  2. Select the Account Overview menu.
  1. Select the Profile tab.

Use the Level field to specify the items to include for the customer group to which your customer belongs. 

  1. Select the Search button.

Use the Profile page to view customer profile information. This page also enables you to use links for viewing in-process payments or outstanding items.

  1. Select the Item List link.

Use the Item List page to view a list of open items for the customer.

Use the Status field to select the type of items that you want to display.

  1. Select the Status list and select from the list item.  
  2. Select the Search button.  
  3. Scroll down and select the Cancel button.

Next, navigate to the Customer Payments page.

  1. Select the Customer Information menu.  
  2. Select the Payments menu.  
  3. Select the Search button.

  1. Select the Payment History menu.  
  2. Select the Search button.

Use the Customer Payment History page to view payment history, balance, and sales information for your customer.

  1. Select the Credit Limit link.

Use the General Info page to view or record general customer information.

Select the status of your customer's account in the Status field.

Use the Date Added field to enter the date when you entered the customer in the system.  

Use the Since field to specify that the customer has been a customer since a certain date.  

Use the Type field to identify customer categories in reports.

  1. Select the General Info Links list and choose Credit Profile from the list item.

Use the Credit Profile page to view or update the general credit profile of your customer. 

  1. Select the Add a New Row button.

Use the Effective Date field to specify the date when you are updating the credit profile of your customer. It defaults to the system date.

Use the Credit Class field to select additional credit categories for your customer.

Use the Risk Code field to select the risk level for your customer's past credit history. 

  1. Select the Risk Code list and select from the list item.

Use the Risk Score field to view the credit risk score that has been calculated for this customer. This calculation is based on the establishment of risk scoring rules and running of the Risk Scoring process (RUN_AR_RISK).  This score may change each time the Risk Scoring process is run for a customer or customer group depending on any new payment and collection activities.

Use the Currency Code field to specify the currency code for your customer's account.

Use the Rate Type field to enter the rate type for converting transaction currencies to the currency code that you specified.

Select the Collection check box if you have turned a customer over for collection.

  1. Select the Collection option.

Use the Status field to specify the collection status code.

  1. Select the Status field.  Enter the desired information.
  2. Select the Enable Credit Checking option.
  3. Select the Credit Limit Review Date field.
  4. Use the Credit Limit Review Date field to specify the date on which you re-evaluate both the corporate and general credit limit.
  5. Enter the desired information into the Credit Limit Review Date field. 
  6. Select the Credit Limit field. Enter the desired information.  
  7. Scroll down and select the OK button.

You have successfully analyzed your customer's account and updated credit information.
