Meeting Notes and Decisions

Identify and Clear Errors

  • WA171 - Student’s address is correct in PS, but loads incorrectly in NSC (splits data across fields); Withdrawn students must be manually corrected; identified possible CIP code issues when student coded in multiple plans
  • WA172 - No spacing error is most recent report; found punctuation in PS address interferes with CSV file; students able to use punctuation when updating address in Student Center; completely withdrawn students are not captured in report (uses a query to identify and manually correct); Students with grade “Z” also not captured and must be manually corrected
  • WA220 - No issue with this bullet; also manually corrects withdrawn students

Template

  • WA171 - may not be issue with template (refer to bullet one notes on spacing issues)
  • WA172 - template is fine, matches exactly with what Clearinghouse presents
  • WA220 - does not have issues with template

Program/Plan Stack and Effective Dating

  • WA171 - can’t identify which plans are reported to NSLDS when student is coded in multiple plans with same CIP; NSLDS does not seem to receive all plan data
  • WA172 - has far less errors now, coordinates corrections with Tamara Wittstruck; common errors result from application received effective dates; expects the errors that result from changes dated during term
  • WA220 - issue with program/plan changes effective dated during the term

Data Origin

  • WA171 - Don’t know how canned report/fields are pulled; waiting to hear this information; currently receiving training directly from NSC but would like Melissa’s NSC report training
  • WA172 - No issue with this bullet; can find data sources and how concatenation occurs; would be willing to participate in Melissa’s NSC report training
  • WA220 - No issue with this bullet; would also like Melissa’s NSC report training

Residency Reporting

  • WA171 - no issue with this bullet
  • WA172 - no issue with this bullet
  • WA220 - no issue with this bullet

  • WA172 - had issues with winter reporting but worked with Tom (SBCTC) to correct Degree Verify report; were able to submit
  • WA220 - were able to submit successfully after report was corrected
