Viewing NSLDS Data

Purpose: Use this document as a reference for how to view NSLDS Data in ctcLink.

Audience: FA Counselor/Technician.

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:

  • ZD FA Director
  • ZZ FA Award Misc Info
  • ZZ FA Award Processor

If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.

View NSLDS Data

Navigation: Financial Aid > Awards > View NSLDS Loan Data

  1. The NSLDS Inquiry search page displays.
  2. Enter the Student ID.
  3. Select the Search button.
  4. The View NSLDS Data page displays. 
  5. Use the NSLDS Information tab to view federal financial aid history maintained by the U.S. National Student Loan Data System.
  6. Use the NSLDS Loan Detail tab to review detailed information the federal loans a student has received.
  7. Use the NSLDS Pell tab to review a summary of a student’s Pell awards and Lifetime Eligibility Used.
  8. Users will NOT be using the NSLDS ACG and NSLDS NSG tabs as the programs are no longer available.
  9. Use the NSLDS Teach tab to review a student’s Teach Grant summary.
  10. Use the NSLDS IASG tab to review a student's IASG summary.
  11. Use the NSLDS Additional Information tab to review overpayment information or name history.
  12. Process complete.

If I closed off an OP checklist and checked the Overpayment in the View Status Package Summary>Database Matches AND Pell will not appear in a student's award, where else should I look to enable Pell, assuming that the student is Pell eligible per COD?
