9.2 Adding a Communication
Purpose: Use this document as a reference for adding a communication in ctcLink.
Audience: FA Counselor/Technician
Note: Set up Communication Speed Keys to perform this task. See Communication Speed Keys Set Up QRG.
You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:
- ZC CC 3Cs User
- ZD CC 3Cs User
- ZZ CC 3Cs User
If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.
Adding a Communication
Navigation: NavBar > Navigator > Campus Community > Communications > Person Communications > Communication Management
- The Communication Management search page displays.
- Select the Add a New Value tab.
- The Add a New Value tab displays.
- Search for or enter the Student ID.
- Select the Add button.
- The Communication Management page displays.
- From the Person Communication tab, enter FINA in the Function field. The Variable Data button will open.
- Select the correct Institution if the default was not correct.
- Select the Communication Key lookup tool to choose the desired notification. FAAWARD is used in this example.
- Select the Variable Data button.
- The Variable Data dialog box displays.
- Enter the Aid Year.
- Select the OK button to close dialog box.
- Select the Save button to save your work.
You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:
- ZD FA Director
- ZD FA Student Aid Info
- ZZ FA Student Aid Info
If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.
- Results can be viewed on the View Financial Aid Status page.
- Navigation: NavBar > Navigator > Financial Aid > View Financial Aid Status
Tip: A Communication can also be added from various Financial Aid summary pages by clicking the Communication Speed Key. It takes a user directly to the Communication Management page.
- Process complete.
