Setting Up Committee Types and Member Roles

Purpose: Use this document as a reference for setting up committee types and member roles in ctcLink.

Audience: College staff responsible for maintaining event information

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:

  • ZC CC Event Committees
  • ZD CC Event Committees
  • ZD CC Super user
  • ZZ CC Event Committees

You must also set these SACR Security permissions:

Setting Up Committee Types and Member Roles

Navigation:  Campus Community > Committees > Committee Type/Role

  1. The Committee Type/Role search page displays.
  2. The default option is Find an Existing Value. Select Search to view existing values.
  3. Click the Add a New Value tab to add a new Committee Type.
  4. Select the Add button.
  5. The Committee Type/Role page displays.
  6. Effective Date: Enter the date from which this committee type is valid or leave the default of the current date. To ensure this value is available for all possible records, use a date far from the past.
  7. Status: Select "Active" or "Inactive."
  8. Description: Enter a name for the committee.
  9. Short Description: Optional.
  10. Record (Table) Name: Identify the record containing the types of individuals assigned to this committee. On the Committee page, the selected record provides a prompt list of possible members. For example, when creating an Undergraduate Interviews committee with the RECRUITERS_VW selection, you will be prompted to choose recruiters from your list. This is every time you make an Undergraduate Interviews committee.
  11. Committee Role: Select the role(s) that should always be part of this committee type. Select the Add a New Row [+] button on the right side of the Committee Role field. As many roles as necessary can be added.
  12. Description: Enter the description for the defined role.
  13. Short Description: Optional.
  14. Select Save.
  15. Process complete.
