Setting and Releasing Academic Standing Service Indicators

Purpose: Use this document as a reference for how to place and remove holds relating to academic standing in ctcLink.

Audience: Student Records

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:

  • ZD CC Service Indicate Student
  • ZZ CC Service Indicate Student
  • ZD CC Service Indicators
  • ZZ CC Service Indicators

You must also set these SACR Security permissions:

If you need assistance with the above security roles or SACR settings, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access

Setting the Service Indicator

Service Indicators (SIs) and their impacts are institution-specific. Suppose a student has a Service Indicator blocking enrollment; it only affects their activity at that institution.

Navigation:  Campus Community > Service Indicators > Person > Mass Assign

Navigation:  Campus Community > Service Indicators (Student) > Mass Assign 

  1. The Mass Assign run control ID search page displays.
  2. Select the Add a New Value tab.
  3. Enter Run Control ID.
  4. Select Add.
  5. The Mass Assign page displays.
  6. Enter Selection Tool = "PS Query".
  7. Enter Query Name = "QCS_ACAD_STAND_SI".
  8. Select Edit Prompts.
  9. The Query Prompts window displays.
  10. Enter Institution.
  11. Enter Term.
  12. Enter Stdng Actn.
  13. Enter Srv Ind Cd.
  14. Enter Srvc Reasn.
  15. Select OK.
  16. The Query Prompts window disappears.
  17. Enter Institution.
  18. Enter Service Indicator Code.
  19. Enter Reason.
  20. Enter Start Term.
  21. Enter Start Date. An accurate start date is critical for desired outcomes (ex. Hold date before registration appointment date.)
  22. Select Run.  Please refer to the Process Scheduling QRG for instructions.
  23. Process Scheduler Request page displays.
  24. Verify the "Publish Assign Service Ind" Select box is checked.
  25. Select OK.
  26. Verify that the Process Monitor shows Status = "Success" and Distribution = "Posted".  Again, please refer to the Process Scheduling QRG for instructions.

Removing the Service Indicator

Navigation:  Campus Community > Service Indicators > Person > Mass Release

Navigation:  Campus Community > Service Indicators (Student) > Mass Release 

  1. The Mass Release run control ID search page displays.
  2. Select the Add a New Value tab.
  3. Enter Run Control ID.
  4. Select Add.
  5. The Mass Release page displays.
  6. Enter Selection Tool = "PS Query".
  7. Enter Query Name = "QCS_ACAD_STAND_SI_RELEASE".
  8. Select Edit Prompts.
  9. The Query Prompts window displays.
  10. Enter Institution.
  11. Enter Srv Ind Cd.
  12. Enter Srvc Reasn.
  13. Enter Stdng Actn.
  14. Enter Stdng Actn Term.
  15. Select OK.
  16. The Query Prompts window disappears.
  17. Enter Institution.
  18. Enter Service Indicator Code.
  19. Enter Reason.
  20. Enter Start Term.
  21. Enter Start Date.
  22. Select Run.  Please refer to the Process Scheduling QRG for instructions.
  23. The Process Scheduler Request page displays.
  24. Verify that the "Publish REL Service Ind" Select box is checked.
  25. Select OK.
