9.2 Entering Pay Increases Using Comp Rate Codes

Purpose: Use this document as a reference for entering employee pay increases using comp rate codes in ctcLink.

Audience: Human Resource and Payroll Specialists.

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:

  • ZC HR Employee Maintenance
  • ZD HR Central Config VW
  • ZD HR Admin View Job Data
  • ZD Benefits Employee Data Inq
  • ZD HR Employee Maintenance VW
  • ZD HR Limited Person Job Info
  • ZZ HR Employee Maintenance
  • ZZ SS Workforce Administrator
  • ZZ FWL HCM Pay Process

If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.

NOTE: Certain Compensation Rate Codes are pre-defined in ctcLink HCM. The employee's calculated compensation is based on the rate code that is specified. Modify the rate code as needed.

Enter a Pay Increase Using Compensation Rate Codes

Navigation:  NavBar > Navigator > Workforce Administration > Job Information > Job Data

  1. The Job Data search page displays.
  2. Enter the Empl ID in the Empl ID field.
  3. Select the Search button.
  4. Select the appropriate Empl Record from the Search Results section.
Find an Existing Value tab
  1. The Job Data page displays.
  2. The Work Location page contains information about an employee’s job, such as position, regulatory region, company, department and location. Information on this page reflects the last action for this employee.
  3. Select the Add a Row button to record a pay rate change.
  4. Enter the new Effective Date in the Effective Date field. The system will default to today’s date, modify if needed.
  5. Select Pay Rate Change from the Action drop-down menu.
  6. Select Adjustment from the Reason drop-down menu.
Work Location tab, page
  1. Select the Compensation tab.
  2. The Compensation page displays. Use the Compensation page to specify the compensation rate for an employee.
  3. Select the appropriate Rate Code. NAANNL and NAHRLY are currently the only options used.
  4. Enter the new pay rate in the Comp Rate field.
  5. Select the Calculate Compensation button.
  6. Select the Save button.

  1. The process to enter pay increases using comp rate codes is now complete.
  2. End of procedure.
