9.2 ESS Manage Delegation (Classic)

Purpose: Use this document as a reference for viewing Payable Time for employees in ctcLink.

Audience:  Employees and Managers.

Time and Labor and Absence Management uses delegation to enable one person to authorize another to serve as his or her representative when managing time transactions.  A manager can delegate their tasks of approving time, entering employee time, or entering their own time to another person due to workload or their own absence.

Employee Self-Service Manage Delegation

Navigation:  Employee Self Service (homepage) > CTC Manage Delegation (tile)

  1. The Manage Delegation page displays.
  2. There are multiple links on the Delegation Home Page- one for each way of managing delegation. Some or all may display on your page.
    • Learn More about Delegation
    • Create Delegation Request
    • Review My Proxies (this only displays if Delegation has been used once before)
    • Review My Delegated Authorities (this only displays if Delegation has been used once before)
  3. Select the Create Delegation Request link.

  1. The Create Delegation Request page displays.
  2. From the Enter Dates section, enter the From Date.
  3. Enter the To Date.
  4. Select the Next button.

  1. The Select Transactions section displays.
  2. This screen allows the user to select what system abilities can be delegated.
  3. Select the Select All link (partial delegation is strongly discouraged).
  4. Select the Next button.

  1. The Select Proxy by Hierarchy section displays.
  2. This screen allows the user to select the Proxy that will manage the delegated authority.
  3. Select the radio button next to the employee name.
  4. Select the Next button.

  1. The Delegation Detail section displays.
  2. Review the details of the Delegation.
  3. Select the Submit button.
  4. A message displays confirming the submission of the delegation request.
  5. Select the OK button.
  1. The process to manage a delegation is now complete.
  2. End of procedure.
