9.2 Adding a Communication (Financial Aid)

Purpose: Use this document as a reference for adding a communication in ctcLink.

Audience: FA Counselor/Technician

Adding a Communication

Confirming Award Notification

Navigation:  NavBar > Navigator > Financial Aid > View Financial Aid Status

  1. The Financial Aid Status search page displays.
  2. Enter Academic Institution.
  3. Enter Aid Year.
  4. Enter additional Search Criteria to identify your student.
  5. Select Search.

  2. Scroll to the Communication section to view the status.

Adding a Communication

Navigation:  NavBar > Navigator > Campus Community > Communications > Person Communications > Communication Management

Note: Set up Communication Speed Keys to perform this task. See the quick reference guide Communication Speed Keys Setup in the Financial Aid section of the ctcLink Training Website.

  1. The Communication Management search page displays.
  2. Select the Add a New Value tab.
  3. Enter ID.
  4. Select Add.

  1. The Person Communication tab displays.
  2. In Function, enter "FINA".
  3. Enter Institution.
  4. Enter Communication Key.
  5. Select Variable Data.

  2. Enter Aid Year.
  3. Select OK.

  2. Select Save.

  1. To validate that the Award Notification was generated, navigate to the View Financial Aid Status page:
    • Navigation:  NavBar > Navigator > Financial Aid > View Financial Aid Status
  2. Process complete.
