CC.003.5 Student Alert (Project Archive)
The Student Alert process gives instructors and advisors the ability to raise a flag on behalf of students who may need additional support for academic success. Alerts can be submitted through the Advisor or Faculty Homepage. When an alert is submitted, a notification goes to a team of Responders (determined by the institution) who can review the alert. During the review process, the Responder can complete the alert which will trigger a notification to the student and the staff member who submitted the alert. The student notification email will be a custom message related to the Alert Code chosen by the instructor or advisor. The following will need to first be completed before testing Student Alert: Add one or more Employee ID’s to each Alert Organization. This creates the groups of Responders. The person who is submitting a Student Alert as an instructor needs to be added to the Instructor/Advisor table, and be assigned as the instructor for a class on the Maintain Schedule of Classes page. Students will need to be enrolled in the instructor’s class. Note that the Student Alert functionality is open to advisors/instructors based on a date range that must be entered in the Term/Session table. The information below is intended to provide colleges guidance on performing a User Acceptance Test on this business process. The business process shown in the flow diagrams below may be only part of what is needed to complete an end-to-end test of a full business cycle. Coordination with other colleagues at your college in advance of commencing testing is key to success. In the same way that it doesn't take a single individual to operate the business of running a college it will require coordination across departments to successfully test a business flow from beginning to end.
