View Asset Depreciation
Purpose: Use this document to view asset depreciation information by year or by period in ctcLink.
Audience: Finance Staff
You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:
- ZZ Asset Entry
- ZZ Depreciation Processing
If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.
View Asset Depreciation
Navigation: Asset Management > Depreciation > Review Depreciation Info > Asset Depreciation
- On the Asset Depreciation search page, enter the Business Unit.
- Enter the Asset Identification or utilize other search criteria to locate asset.
- Select Search. The Asset Depreciation page displays the Asset tab with a summary of basic asset, tag number, and depreciation information.
Optional to select the Related Content drop down arrow and select the Book and/or Cost History link (this link is located in the upper right hand corner and also available under the 'Book' section on all three tabs). Review as needed. Minimize the Related Content by selecting the collapse arrow icon.
- Select the Depreciation tab to view asset cost, accumulated depreciation, net book value, and yearly depreciation chartfields. Note the Related Content section (Book/Cost History) is minimized at the bottom of the page.
- Optional to select the Year hyperlink to drill into depreciation of that year, i.e. 2023 link.
For regular assets, use the Depreciation page to calculate an asset's net book value and view its depreciation information for the year. For parent-child assets, use the page to calculate the net book value. Depreciation information does not appear by year on the Depreciation tab.
- Select the Period Depreciation tab to view depreciation dollar amounts by periods. Use the Year menu box to select a specific year.
- Procedure complete.
