Update Ability to Benefit Fields (Batch)

Purpose:  Use this page to create and maintain Ability to Benefit data for a group of students using ctcLink.

Audience: Financial Aid staff.

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:

  • ZD FA ATB
  • ZZ FA ATB

If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.

Update Ability to Benefit Fields (Batch)

This process is a batch process that is included in your nightly JobSet.  It can be run ad hoc as needed.

Navigation:  Financial Aid > Ability to Benefit > Create Ability to Benefit

  1. The Create Ability to Benefit run control page displays.  
  2. Enter an existing or add a new Run Control ID.
  3. Select the Search or Add button.  
  4. The Create Ability to Benefit page displays.
  5. Choose PS Query from the Selection Tool drop-down menu.
  6. Select the Query Name field.  Select the magnifying glass and choose CTC_FA_SB_PS_ATB - Note, that you can run this query independently in Query Viewer to see who is going to be assigned an ATB value before actually running the process.
  7. Select the Edit Prompts link.  The Query Prompts pagelet appears.
  8. On the Query Prompts pagelet, enter the desired information into Institution field.  
  9. Enter the desired year into Aid Yr field, note that it is AY-specific.
  10. Select the OK button.  The Query Prompts pagelet disappears.
  11. Under the Default Values section, enter the Institution.  

Note -- do not define any values in the following fields: Student Eligibility Code, Test Administrator Code, Test Code, State Code, or Completion Date Code fields, as doing so may result in COD rejecting grant and/or loan records.

  1. On the Create Ability to Benefit page, select the Save button if saving for a JobSet, or select the Run button if running ad hoc.  
  2. If running the process, the Process Scheduler page displays - Select the OK button.  
  3. The Create Ability to Benefit page displays.
  4. Select Process Monitor link.
  5. The Process List page displays.
  6. You may periodically select the Refresh button until the process runs to Success and Posted status.
