Create a Milestone for Non-Course Requirements

Navigation:  NavBar > Navigator > Set Up SACR > Product Related > Student Records > Enrollment > Milestone Table

Milestones can be used to track non-course requirements for degrees and selective admission applications. Colleges have the option to incorporate these items into Academic Advisement Reports.

Examples - letters of reference, license/professional exam requirements, First Aid certification

  1. The Milestone Table search page displays.
  2. Select the Add a New Value tab.
  3. Enter Academic Institution.
  4. Enter Milestone.
  5. Select Add.

  1. The Milestone Table page displays.
    1. Effective Date: Use 01/01/1901 or the earliest date the Milestone can be used.
    2. Status: Leave as the defaulted "Active".
    3. Description: This value appears in Student Center if the Milestone is set up to display in self-service. Enter a desired description. (30 char. max)
    4. Formal Description: This value appears in Student Center if the Milestone is set up to display in self-service. Enter a desired formal description. (50 char. max)
    5. Calculate Required Date: Select "Do Not Calculate".
    6. Calculate Anticipated Date: Select "Do Not Calculate".
    7. Transcript Level: Select "Never Print".
    8. Print Milestone Detail: Select "Never Print".
    9. Attempts Allowed: Leave blank.
    10. Grading Scheme: Leave blank.
    11. Grading Basis: Leave blank.
    12. Allow Student Self-Service: Checking this box allows students to review assigned Milestone information via Student Center.
    13. Allow Student Attachment: Checking this box allows students to attach files to assigned Milestones via Student Center.
    14. Allow Advisor Self-Service: Checking this box allows advisors to review the Milestone via Advisor Center.
    15. Allow Advisor Attachment: Checking this box allows advisors to attach files to assigned Milestones via Advisor Center.
    16. Information For Students: Free-form text viewable by students if Allow Student Self-Service is checked.
    17. Milestone Level: This value appears in Student Center if the Milestone is set up to display in self-service (15 char. max)
    18. Description: This value appears in Student Center if the Milestone is set up to display in self-service. (30 char. max)
    19. Formal Description: This value is informational only and is not student facing. (50 char. max)
    20. Select the Add a New Row [+] icon to add additional levels.
    21. Select Save.

Milestone levels indicate the specific non-course item(s) you wish to track.

  1. To incorporate the Milestone into an Academic Advisement Report, refer to Define a Dynamic Condition (Milestone) for Academic Advisement QRG.
  2. Process complete.
