Tracking Retirement Fields

Purpose: Use this document as a reference for using the custom page Retirement Fields in ctcLink.

Audience: Benefits Administrators, HR Core Administrators.

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:

  • ZD Benefits Enollment Inquiry
  • ZC Benefits Enrollments

If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.

Tracking Retirement Fields

Navigation:  Benefits > CTC Custom > Retirement Fields

  1. The Retirement Fields search page displays.
  2. Enter the Empl ID.
  3. Select the Search button.
  4. The Retirement Fields page displays.  The following fields, not delivered by ctcLink, are supplied on this page for manual entries:
    • Effective Date - This date equals Deduction Begin Date on Retirement Plans Page
    • TIAA/CREF MODE - (do not use)
    • Retiree Type Code - Use for DRS retirees only. When populating this field, use one of the following retiree types:
          97 = TRS Plan 1 retirees  
          98 = All retirees who work in eligible positions
          99 = All retirees who work in ineligible positions
    • DRS Option - DRS Plan option made by employee (leave blank if employee does not make a choice)
    • DRS Option Date - Date employee made DRS plan choice (leave blank if employee does not make a choice)
    • Ret Deduction Ind - (do not use)
    • Prior RET Plan - (do not use)
    • Retirement Plan Effective Date - This date equals Election Date on the Retirement Plans page
  5. If the employee is not in a retirement plan, then all fields will display as blank, with the exception of the Effective Date which will display the current date.
  6. If the employee is terminated, the Current Retirement Plan will not display any value.
  7. Manual entry on this page is required for newly DRS retirement eligible employees as well as those with Retirement Plan changes.
  8. When making a change to a current employee, another row with a new effective date must be added.

NOTE: Retirement Fields page needs to be maintained for accurate downstream reporting to DRS.
