Assign to or Cancel a Student from a Payment Plan
Purpose: Use this document as a reference for assigning and canceling a student from a payment plan in ctcLink.
Audience: Student Financials staff.
You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:
- ZZ SF Payment Plan
If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.
BEWARE: Do not use the Reverse Payment and Reverse Charge ctcLink pages if adjusting Payment Plan balances. If adjustments are needed to a payment plan, only use ctcLink Payment Plan pages. ONLY use Reverse Payment if adjusting a student payment to a plan, not to manipulate the plan item types.
To view the progress of student payments towards a payment plan, you can run the query QCS_SF_PMT_PLN_PRG_BI or run the BI Publisher Report CTCSF_PMTPRG.
Navigation: Student Financials > Payment Plans > Payment Plan > Assign
- The Payment Plan search page displays.
- Select the Add a New Value tab.
- Enter the Business Unit.
- Enter the student ID.
- Enter or search for the Contract Number.
- Select the Add button and the Payment Plan 1 tab displays.
- Select the Payment Plan 2 tab and the Payment Plan 2 tab displays.

Plan Types:
- For Existing Plan Type:
- Review and select eligible charges listed within the Transaction Details section.
- Select the Calculate button.
- Select the Post button.
- For Calculated Plan Type:
- Select the Post button.
- For Existing Plan Type:
- Optional: Select the Waive Fee check-box.
- Process complete.

Navigation: Student Financials > Payment Plans > Payment Plan > Assign
- The Payment Plan search page displays.
- Enter the Business Unit.
- Enter the student ID.
- Enter or search for the Contract Number.
- Select the Search button and the Payment Plan 1 tab displays.
- Select the Payment Plan 2 tab and the Payment Plan 2 tab displays.
- Select the Status field drop-down and select Cancelled.
- Select the Post button.
- Process complete.

Navigation: Student Financials > View Customer Accounts
- The Customer Accounts search page displays.
- Enter the Business Unit.
- Enter the student ID.
- Select the Search button and the Customer Accounts page displays.
- Review the Payment Plan account balance on the Customer Accounts page.
- Select the Account Details link to review the payment schedule.
- The Account Details page displays. Review the payment schedule.
- Process complete.
