Using the Search Feature in the Reference Center
Purpose: The Reference Center is your go-to resource for Quick Reference Guides. It's organized like a website with manuals, chapters and articles.
Audience: College Community
How to Search
- Locate the Search Bar. At the top of the Reference Center, find the search bar.
-
Enter Keywords. Type in a few keywords related to your topic, just like you would when using Google.
- Example: To find guidance on maintaining a student program plan, type "program plan."
- View Search Results. A list of matching articles will appear. Click on an article title to view its content.
Filter Search Results
- Enter Keywords: In the search bar at the top of the page, type in the relevant keyword(s) for the topic you're looking for (e.g., "errors").
- Click Search: Select the blue Search 🔍 button to begin the search.
- Use Filter Search Results: On the left-hand side of the page, under Filter Search Results, you can narrow your search by selecting specific manuals or categories.
- Select a Manual: Check the box next to a manual or category you want to search within (e.g., "Finance," "Campus Solutions," or "Continuing Education"). Select the search bar's Search 🔍 button.
- View Search Results: The right side of the screen will refresh to show results based only on the selected manual(s) and your search keywords.
- Click a Result: Click the title of a listed result to view the guide or reference document.
Navigating Within Articles
- Breadcrumbs: At the top of the article, you’ll see hyperlinked breadcrumbs showing where the article lives (Manual > Chapter > Article). Click on the manual or chapter name to navigate back.
- Multiple Navigation Paths: Some articles may appear in more than one manual or chapter. If so, you’ll see two breadcrumb paths—you can use either to return to the relevant section.
- Prev/Next Links: At the bottom of each article, use the Prev and Next links to move to the previous or next article in the chapter.
