Deactivating and Activating Financial Aid Self-Service Access

Purpose: Use this document as a reference on how to shut down and turn back on self service access while you are in the process of awarding students in ctcLink.

Audience: Financial Aid Director.

By unchecking the Allow Access box, you are opting to temporarily shut off self service access to students while you are awarding in PRD.  This strategy is useful for when you are in the process of adjusting aid packages and you do not want students to view their awards while they are in the process of being perfected.

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:

  • ZC FA Local Configuration
  • ZD FA Local Configuration

If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.

Deactivating Self-Service Access

Navigation: Set Up SACR > Common Definitions > Self Service > Financial Aid > Self Service Options 

  1. The Self-Service Options search page displays.
  2. Enter the Academic Institution.
  3. Enter the Aid Year.
  4. Select the Search button.
  5. The Self-Service Options page displays.
  6. At the Inquiry tab, uncheck the Allow Access checkbox.
  7. Select Save.

Process complete.

Activating Self Service

Once you are satisfied with your aid packages you have offered to students, you can return back to Self Service Options page, and turn on Self Service access so that students can see their awards in Student Center.

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:

  • ZC FA Local Configuration
  • ZD FA Local Configuration

If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.

  6. Select Save.
