HCM: Local Configuration Guide - Time and Labor
This document contains the local configuration decisions made for use in deployment of the Time and Labor Module of the Oracle’s PeopleSoft Human Capital Management 9.2 application. As such, all additional documentation must be in agreement with the related items described herein. Should conflict arise with information contained in another document, the data in this document shall be considered valid and that of the other shall be deemed incorrect. No information should be deleted once initial configuration has been completed.
The Time and Labor Global Configuration Guide explains necessary tables needed to setup an institution in the PeopleSoft system. The order of the configuration tables presented in this document adheres to the table setup sequence required to successfully set up all tables.
Identify the data available to specified users when they create and view groups.
There are no different security requirements that the Department Security would not take care of. This security item is maintained by Customer Support and is set up according to a global principle for all permission lists.

Create and update dynamic groups, define the criteria, and preview the groups. This security item is maintained by Customer Support and is set up according to a global principle for all permission lists. Dynamic groups define the population for Time Administration and mass schedule change.

Create security that corresponds to a user's ability to access data for groups of time reporters.
Recommendations for the system are as follows:
Employees 1 day Prior Period Access. No Future Time Access.
Payroll Admin/T&L Admin 6 months Prior Period Access. No Future Time Access.

Specify a pattern of scheduled times that an employee can see on their timesheet. Defined globally. New schedules must be reported to Customer Support if needed.

Define shift rates by college.
Shift differential rates need to be defined for every college as per E-196 customization. Time and Labor looks at this custom table, but Payroll looks at the Earnings Table located at Set Up HCM > Product Related > Payroll for North America > Compensation and Earnings > Earnings Table. Both of these values must be in sync for Time and Labor and Payroll to remain consistent as of 5/11/2018.
Additionally, Set Up HCM > Product Related > Payroll for North America > Compensation and Earnings > Shift Table must be defined before setup can be done in this custom page. Shift Table setup is a Payroll SME function.
