Refund a Deceased Student's Account

Purpose:  Use this document to refund a deceased student's account in ctcLink.  Follow the included steps  to view descriptions and to be linked to process directions.

Audience:  SF Staff, CS Staff, Student Services.

1.  Mark the student's account as deceased.

The first step is to update ctcLink with a deceased status. Please refer to the Entering Decedent Data QRG for processing steps.

2.  Add person to which refund is issued.

The second step is for finding or creating an account to which the deceased student's credit balance may be delivered. Please refer to the Using Add/Update a Person QRG for processing steps.

3.  Connect person to student and process refund to delivery.

The third and final step is for connecting the deceased student's account to the account to whom the refund should be sent and then send the refund to that individual. Please refer to the Student Sponsor Refund Process QRG for processing steps.
