Entering Decedent Data

Purpose: Use this document as a guide for entering information about a decedent in ctcLink when a student or employee passes away.

Audience: College staff responsible for maintaining  student information

-You must have at least one of these local college-managed security roles:

  • ZC CC Personal Information
  • ZD CC Personal Information
  • ZD CC Super user
  • ZZ CC Pers Info NID Update
  • ZZ CC Personal Information

You must also set these SACR Security permissions:

If you need assistance with the above security roles or SACR settings, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access

Navigation: Campus Community > Personal Information > Biographical > Personal Attributes > Decedent Data

  1. The Decedent Data search page displays.
  2. Enter Search Criteria to locate your decedent.
  3. Select Search.
  4. The Decedent Data page displays.
  5. Enter Date of Death. The system will display "DECEASED" at the top of pages related to the student, based on actions taken during the Processing a Deceased Student Record procedure. Refer to that QRG for details. Local policy determines whether this reflects the date of death or the date of notification.
  6. Enter Place of Death.
  7. Enter Death Certificate Number.
  8. Select Save.
  9. Process complete.
