9.2 Entering Publications

Purpose: Use this document to enter publications for an individual in ctcLink.

Audience: Student Services Staff.

Use the Publications page to enter publications data for an individual.

The Publication Number field displays the number of this publication in the list of publications for this individual. The system enters the next sequential number for each publication that you add. You can override the number to reorder the list of publications.

Navigation: NavBar > Navigator > Campus Community > Personal Information > Participation Data > Accomplishments > Publications

  1. The Publications search page displays.
  2. Enter the desired information into the ID field.
  3. Select the Search button.
Publications Landing Page
  1. The Publications page displays.
  2. Select the Publication Type list and choose the desired item from the drop down menu.
  3. Enter the desired information into the following:
    • Publication Title field
    • Publication Name field
    • Publisher field
  4. Select the Date Format (PowerPlay Only) check box to indicate whether the value in the Date field must be selected from the calendar feature or entered in a valid format. If you do not select this check box, the value in the Date field can be any value or format of up to 10 characters.
  5. Select the Date Format (PowerPlay Only) option.
  6. Enter the desired information into the following:
    • Date field
    • Volume field. You will enter the volume, if any, of the magazine, journal, book, or other medium in which the publication appeared.
    • Issue field. You will enter the issue, if any, of the magazine, journal, book, or other medium in which the publication appeared.
    • Page Number(s) field. You will enter the page numbers, if any, of the magazine, journal, book, or other medium in which the publication appeared.
  7. If desired, use the Notes section to enter any further details about this publication.
  8. Select the Save button.
Publication Detail Entry
  1. You have successfully entered publication information for an individual.
  2. End of procedure.
