9.2 Manually Enter SEVIS ID

Purpose: Refer to this document when manually entering the SEVIS ID in PeopleSoft that was provided by the Department of Homeland Security for students or exchange visitors and their dependents.

Audience: College Staff responsible for maintaining student SEVIS information.

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:

  • ZC CS SEVIS
  • ZD CS SEVIS
  • ZZ CS SEVIS

If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.

You must also set these SACR Security permissions:

Note:

  • Warning! SEVIS IDs should only be manually entered if the student’s/dependent’s I-20 or DS-2019 was initially created directly in SEVIS RTI
  • Before entering the student’s SEVIS ID, the student’s I-20/DS-2019 must first be created in PeopleSoft, and the Export Process Send to Master (Master Sync) has been run

9.2 Entering SEVIS I-20 Data

Manually Enter SEVIS ID

Navigation: NavBar > Navigator > Campus Community > SEVIS > SEVIS Maintenance > SEVIS ID Maintenance 

  1. The SEVIS ID Maintenance search page displays.
  2. Enter Search Criteria to identify your student.
  3. Check the Include History option.
  4. Select the Search button.

For F/M Students and their Dependents:

  1. Under the SEVIS Schools section, select your SEVIS School Code by clicking on the spy-glass icon to use the look-up tool.
  2. Enter the Effective Date of the SEVIS ID.
  3. In the SEVIS ID field, enter the 11-character unique ID provided by DHS.
Enter or look up the SEVIS School Code and enter the appropriate Effective Date

For J Exchange Visitors and their Dependents:

  1. Under the SEVIS Programs section, select your SEVIS Program Number by clicking on the spy-glass icon to use the look-up tool.
  2. Enter the Effective Date of the SEVIS ID.
  3. In the SEVIS ID field, enter the 11-character unique ID provided by DHS.
Save the information entered on the SEVIS ID Maintenance page
  1. Click Save.
  2. Process complete.
