PBCS stands for Planning Budgeting Cloud Service. This is the planning and budgeting tool used to build budgets. PBCS is not for transactions, but for budget development. All of your transactions will continue to be in ctcLink.
Currently this is limited to 10 people per school. After all of the schools are online we can reevaluate the need and the costs for adding additional licenses.
Yes, Smart View and PBCS licenses are the same. Each school is currently limited to 10 licenses.
You can update this information directly in PBCS; however the workforce data in PBCS will not be updated in ctcLink.
If you find that data is incorrect in Workforce, you will need to update this information in ctcLink, the HCM pillar.
If the Department or Program is added before the data is pulled from ctcLink, then the new values will be in PBCS, under XXXX_Depts to map or XXXX_Progs to map in the Department/Program hierarchy. Example: 7140_Depts to map
You will then be asked to align all New Department and program values to your current hierarchy structure via a service desk ticket from the PBCS administrator.
At the end of the budget development year colleges will need to submit a ticket approving the data, and requesting the data be moved to ctcLink.
After the data is moved to ctcLink you will receive notification via the service desk ticket to run the PBCS post process in ctcLink in the Commitment Control module, please see the PBCS Post Process QRG for more information.
Please log a service desk ticket in Solar Winds. SBCTC Service Desk
For more information on service desk tickets please see the How to Submit a ctcLink Support Ticket QRG.
An Enhancement or change in PBCS that is global will need an Enhancement Request form. For more information about the Enhancement request process please see the Enhancement Request Process and Form QRG
It is important to note that schools need to have data in ctcLink before implementation can begin.
