Enter Absence Request for Employee Self Service, Manager Self Service & Workforce Administrator (Fluid)
Purpose: Use this document to enter an absence request if using Self Service functions for an employee or manager, or if a Workforce Administrator within ctcLink.
Audience: Employees, Managers, Workforce Administrators
You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:
- ZZ Former Employee
- ZZ HCM Manager
- ZZ PeopleSoft User
If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.
Enter Absence Request for Employee Self Service, Manager Self Service & Workforce Administrator
Navigation: Employee Self Service (Fluid Page) > Time (Fluid Tile) > Manage Absences
- The Manage Absences page displays.
- In the Create a new Request section, enter a Start Date.
- Enter an End Date.
- Select the applicable value from Absence Name drop-down menu.
- Review the duration and if no changes, select the Apply Absence button.
- Select the Submit button.
- A confirmation message displays.
- Select Yes to complete the process.
- The Manage Absences page displays.
- You will see a message that the Absence Request was submitted successfully.
- You can view the approval chain by selecting the View all requests link.
- The View Requests page displays.
- Select the Approval Chain section.
- The employee can see the approval chain of their Absence Request transaction.

Navigation: Manager Self Service (Fluid Page) > Select the Team Time tile
- From the Manager Self-Service page displays.
- Select the Team Time tile.
- The Team Time page displays.
- From the left-side navigation menu, select Manage Absences.
- Your direct reports display to the right.
- Select the applicable employee that you will be submitting an absence request for.
- The Manage Absences page displays.
- Enter a Start Date and an End Date.
- Select the Absence Name value from the drop-down menu.
- Select the Apply Absence button.
- A new field now displays: Reason. Select the Absence Reason from the drop-down menu.
- Select the Submit button.
- A confirmation message appears. Select the Yes value to complete the process of submitting an Absence Request on behalf of a direct report employee.

Navigation: Workforce Administrator (Fluid Page) > Absence Administration (Fluid Tile)
- The Absence Administration page displays.
- Select Absence Event from left-side navigation pane.
- The Absence Event search page displays.
- Enter search criteria to look up employee.
- Select the Search button.
- The Absence Event page displays.
- Select the + (plus sign) to add a new Absence Event row.
- Enter the Absence Take.
- Enter the Begin Date.
- Enter the End Date.
- Enter the Original Begin date.
- Select the Details link.
- The Detail pagelet displays.
- Choose Absence Reason.
- Select OK to close pagelet.
- The Absence Event page displays.
- Select Save to complete the process.
