Running Suspense Prospects Query

Purpose:  Use this document as a reference for how to run the Suspense Prospects Query in ctcLink.

Audience: Financial Aid Counselor/Technician.

The Suspense Prospects query is an opportunity for schools to reach out to students who have submitted a FAFSA to your institution, but have not applied for enrollment.

This query will include names, addresses and emails from the ISIR for contacting prospect students.

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:


If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.

Run Suspense Prospects Query

Navigation:  Reporting Tools > Query > Schedule Queries

  1. The Schedule Query search page displays.
  2. Select Find an Existing Value then select Search; or,
  3. Add a New Value then select Add.
  4. The Schedule Query page displays.
  5. Enter the Query Name - CTC_FA_SUSPENSE_PROSPECTS
  6. Select the Search button.
  7. Select the CTC_FA_SUSPENSE_PROSPECTS link.
  8. Edit prompts pagelet appears.  Populate the following fields:
    • Award Year
    • Institution
    • Aid Year
  9. Select the OK button.
  10. The Schedule Query page will now be populated with the parameters to run the query.
  11. Select the Run button located on the right side of screen.
  12. The Process Scheduler Request page displays.
  13. Select the OK button.
  14. Select the Process Monitor link and ensure the process runs to "Success" and "Posted".
  15. Select Go Back to Schedule Query link.
  16. The Schedule Query page displays.
  17. Select Report Manager link.
  18. The Report Manager page displays.
  19. From the Administration tab, select FA24 Requirement link.
  20. The Report page displays.
  21. Select the CTC_FA_SUSPENSE_PROSPECTS-xxxxxx.csv link.
  22. Depending on the browser, you may be asked to open the results in Excel.
  23. Select OK to open in Excel.  You can now filter the results and work the list to your desire.
  24. Process complete.
