Transferring a Position to a New Location
Purpose: Use this document as a reference to transfer a position to a new location in ctcLink.
Audience: HR Administrator & HR Specialist.
You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:
- <there are no college-assignable roles>

Transfer a Position to a New Location
Navigation: Organizational Development > Position Management > Maintain Positions/Budgets > Add/Update Position Info
- The Add/Update Position Info search page displays.
- Enter in the position number into the Position Number field.
- Select the Search button.
- The Add/Update Position Info page displays.
- Use the Description tab to enter or modify information about a position. To change the location of a position, select the Add a New Row [+] button. Notice that a new row with position-related details has been inserted.
- The Effective Date is defaulted to the current system update. This date should be changed to match when the transfer becomes effective.
- Select the Reason field - specify the reason for modifying the record. For this example, the reason is transfer of position to a different location.
- The Reason is now updated.
- Select the Location field - notice that the application automatically displays the reason associated with the specified code.
- Specify the location to which this position is being transferred.
- Scroll down and select the Save button. Message(s) display to confirm changes.
Verify Update
You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:
- ZC HR Employee Maintenance
- ZD Benefits Employee Data Inq
- ZD FWL HCM View Pay
- ZD HR Admin View Job Data
- ZD HR Central Config VW
- ZD HR Employee Maintenance VW
- ZD HR Limited Person Job Info
- ZZ FWL HCM Pay Process
- ZZ HR Employee Maintenance
- ZZ SS Workforce Administrator

To view the position updated information, navigate to the Job Data page.
Navigation: Workforce Administration > Job Information > Job Data
- The Job Data page displays.
- Enter the Empl ID.
- Select the Search button.
- The Job Data page displays.
- Use the Work Location page to view an employee's job related information. Select the Use Position Data button. The information updates the record.
- Confirm the Location is updated to reflect change done in previous section.
