Linking a Document to a Project

Purpose: Use this document as a reference for adding important reference documents to a project in ctcLink.

Audience: College staff responsible for creating and managing projects.

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:

  • ZZ PC Local Configuration
  • ZZ Project Costing Processing

You must also set these User Preference Definitions:

If you need assistance with the above security roles or User Preference Definitions, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.

Linking a Document to a Project

Navigation: Project Costing > Project Definitions > Define Project General Info

  1. The General Information search page displays.  Enter search criteria on the Find an Existing Value tab to locate the project.
    1. If it did not default, enter or select the business unit in the Business Unit field.
    2. Enter the project ID in the Project field.
    3. Select Search.
  2. The General Information page displays.
  3. Select the side arrow icon to view more tabs.
  4. Select the Attachments tab. The Document Attachments page displays.
  5. In the Document Attachments section, select the paperclip icon to add a document.
  6. The File Attachment window displays.
  7. Select the Choose File button.

Note: Documents may be added only one at a time.

  1. The File Upload window displays.  Use it to locate your file:
    1. Navigate to the location on your computer of the file you want to attach and select file to populate the File name field.
    2. Select Open.

  1. The File Upload window disappears.  The selected file's name appears in the File Attachment window.
  2. Select the Upload button. The File Attachment window disappears.
  3. The updated Attachments page displays.  Note that your uploaded filename appears in the Document Attachments section. Use the plus icon [+] to add more Attachments as needed.
  4. Select Save.

Note: While large files may be loaded, it’s recommended to load smaller files and save before attempting to load a large file (10MB+) as it may take some time to upload.

Note: After adding one or more documents, if they should need to be deleted, use the Delete icon; or you can view using the View icon.
