Add Bio Demo Parent for PLUS Loans

Purpose:  Use this document as a reference on how to add the bio/demo information for the parent using ctcLink.  This is one of four steps in the Award a PLUS loan process.

Audience: Financial Aid staff, loan processing staff.

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:

  • ZD FA DL Mgmt
  • ZD FA Director
  • ZZ FA DL Mgmt
  • ZZ FA Direct Loan Processor

If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.

Add Bio Demo Parent

Navigation:  Financial Aid > Loans > Direct Lending Management > Manage Direct Loan Application

  1. The Direct Loan App search page displays.
  2. Enter the
    • ID
    • Academic Institution
    • Aid Year
  3. Select the Search button.
  4. On the Application Bio/Demo tab, enter the Parent’s ID in the Borrower ID field.
  5. Verify that the parent’s information correctly auto-populates in the Borrower Information section.  
  6. Select the Save button.

After the parent bio/demo information and relationship are linked in the Manage Direct Loan Application page, the parent information must be added to the student’s Direct Loan origination record so it can be sent out to COD.  You can do this by running the Process Loans step for a PLUS loan.  

  1. Process complete.
