9.2 Update ATB Fields

Purpose:  Use this page to create and maintain Ability to Benefit data for a group of students using ctcLink.

Audience: Financial Aid staff.

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:

  • ZD FA ATB
  • ZZ FA ATB

If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.

Update ATB Fields

Navigation:  NavBar > Navigator > Financial Aid > Ability to Benefit > Create Ability to Benefit

  1. The Create Ability to Benefit run control page displays.  
  2. Enter an existing or add a new Run Control ID.
  3. Select the Search or Add button.

  2. Choose PS Query from the Selection Tool drop-down menu.
  3. Select the Query Name field.  Select the magnifying glass and choose CTC_FA_SB_PS_ATB.
  4. Select the Edit Prompts link.  The Query Prompts pagelet appears.
  5. On the Query Prompts pagelet, enter the desired information into Institution field.  
  6. Enter the desired information into Aid Yr field -- in this example 2018 is used.  Note, that the value being entered should be the aid year in which you are processing.
  7. Select the OK button.  The Query Prompts pagelet disappears.
  8. Under the Default Values section, enter the Institution.  

Note -- do not define any values in the following fields: Student Eligibility Code, Test Administrator Code, Test Code, State Code, or Completion Date Code fields, as doing so may result in COD rejecting grant and/or loan records.

  1. Select the Preview Selection Results link.

  1. The Preview Select Results page displays.
  2. Make note of the ID number of any of the students.  Use the student ID later to verify that the ATB fields were updated properly.
  3. Select the Return button.

  1. On the Create Ability to Benefit page, select the Run button.

  1. The Process Scheduler page displays.
  2. Ensure that the Select box for the SFA_ATB row is checked.  
  3. Select the OK button.

  2. Select Process Monitor link.

  1. The Process List page displays.
  2. Select Refresh until the process achieves Success and Posted status.

Validation

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:

  • ZD FA ATB
  • ZD FA Director
  • ZZ FA ATB

Navigation: NavBar > Navigator > Financial Aid > Ability to Benefit > Manage Ability to Benefit

  1. The Manage Ability to Benefit search page displays.
  2. Enter the ID of the student from step in prior section.
  3. Enter the Academic Institution. 
  4. Select the Search button.

  2. The student you entered will show with a value in the Student Eligibility Code field.

Note -- do not update any other fields on this page because doing so may cause COD to reject grant and/or loan records.
