SF March DL Blast 3/17/2026

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone! ☘️💚

It’s that magical time of year when the sun starts pretending it remembers us, flowers are plotting their comeback, and we’re all wondering whether it’s finally safe to put the big coat away (…probably not, but we can dream!).

So settle in, enjoy the holiday, and let’s shamrock our way through this month’s updates! 🍀✨

📢General SF Updates

  • Athletic Waiver
    • Please note an update to the State Board’s webpage under Waiver Guidance: the “college-level” language has been removed. Prior to November, a systematic check had been built into the 12+ credit waiver functionality; however, that check was subsequently removed. The webpage policy language had not yet been updated to reflect this change.
    • As a result of the November update, the 12+ Athletic Waiver process now applies to all courses, including those below the 100 level.
    • Additionally, students enrolled in fewer than 12 credits who qualify for the Athletic Waiver should have the manual waiver applied, as outlined in the QRG available in the Reference Center.
  • Student Financial Responsibility Agreement (SFRA)
    • The SFAAE%%% service indicator is now active for Group 1 CTCs in ctcLink. This includes the following institutions: WA020, WA040, WA050, WA062, WA063, WA064, WA070, WA080, WA090, WA100, WA120, WA130, WA140, WA160, WA180, WA190, WA200, WA210, WA240, WA250, WA260, WA270, WA280, WA290.
    • As of today, ctcLink will assign the SFA hold to students who are summer term active, the SFRA will then be automatically assigned as students become term active for the remainder of the aid year (through Spring term 2273).
    • Please see the SFRA QRG for additional detail.
  • CyberSource issue 1:
    • The State Board Student Financials (SF) Support Team recently reviewed and analyzed a potential issue with our CyberSource payment vendor in which certain student credit card payments were being declined but still posting to ctcLink. These transactions were primarily identified during bank reconciliation and were associated with CyberSource REST API Reason Codes 200 and 201.
    • The State Board Application Services and Student Financials teams have now implemented an update to the interface to address this issue.Credit card payments that previously posted in error should now be properly declined.
    • While occurrences have been very limited, please continue to review your bank reconciliations and statements. If you identify any discrepancies involving declined card payments that appear to have posted, please notify the SF Support Team by submitting a SolarWinds ticket under:
    • ctcLink Support > Student Financials > SF: CyberSource.
    • We will also continue monitoring the electronic transactions log and will provide additional updates if necessary.
  • CyberSource issue 2: Secure Acceptance End of Life Notification email
    • The State Board SF and Application Services Teams are reviewing and working with Cyber Source to determine the extent to which this will impact our services and the best solution for our system.
    • Please expect additional updates soon.
  • Waiver Form in Solar Winds
    • In the Solar Winds ticketing system, the form used to collect waiver information has been updated and is now working as intended.
    • Note that after selecting the link to the form in Solar Winds, the document will be downloaded so that you may complete it/fill in the form and attach it in to your ticket.
  • Service Indicators and Linked Button Pages
    • Some service indicators include buttons that link to other pages within ctcLink. It was recently reported that several“B%” (Business)service indicators contain buttons with broken links due to system pages being updated to Fluid navigation.
    • Please take a moment to review your institution’s B% service indicators to determine whether any contain broken links. The State Board Student Financials Team has already identified and corrected several of these links.
    • We are currently developing additional documentation to better illustrate how this functionality works. In the meantime, if you discover any broken button links on your Business service indicators, please submit a ticket(SF: Service Indicators)so we can assist with the update.

🤓 Today I learned

Corned beef and cabbage, the meal that became a St. Patrick’s Day staple across the country, was an American invention. Ham and cabbage were eaten in Ireland, but corned beef offered a cheaper substitute for impoverished immigrants.

(Ok, I didn’t learn this one today, my parents were immigrants from Ireland, and I heard about this one ALL THE TIME).
