Save and Export DirectLine Reports

Purpose: After running a DirectLine report and retrieving your results in an Excel workbook, you can save that workbook to the Megamation network. You can also retrieve that saved report and either route it by email or copy it to your local C: drive on your own computer.

Audience: Any DirectLine user

Save a DirectLine report to the Megamation network

Navigation: Start from an Excel workbook created in DirectLine

  1.  Click the SAVE icon.

  1. Using the Megamation ribbon at the top of the screen, select Utilities.
  2. Select Copy or Move File(s).
  3. Select Copy to local Workstation.

There are two directories for saved reports:

  • Analysis report directory
  • Export report directory

If you can't find the report you're looking for, toggle to the other directory and you'll likely find it.

Analysis or Export report directory options

Send saved reports by E-mail

  1. Highlight the report(s) you want to copy.
  2. Select E-Mail File(s).

You'll see this message: Do you wish to E-Mail the selected 1 files?

  1. Select Yes.

  1. Select the recipients of the report in the To line.
  2. Modify the Subject line if needed.
  3. Select Send E-mail.

If the file is too large for your email, you'll see the following message:

The following error occurred when sending this email - Message is too big.

Large files are better sent to your local drive.

Download saved reports

If you selected Copy File(s), you'll see: "Your local browser will open and you will have the option of downloading the selected files from dropbox. Do you wish to download the selected x files?"

  1. Select Yes.

The next screen will display a preview of the downloaded file beside the dropbox menu. You can choose to sign into your dropbox account or download directly to your computer.

  1. Click the Download icon
  2. Select Direct download or Save to my Dropbox

Follow the instructions to open or save your file.
