9.2 Unlocking a Journal
Purpose: Use this document as a reference for unlocking a blocked journal in ctcLink
Audience: Financial Staff/Supervisors.
You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:
- ZZ GL Journal Entry
If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.
Occasionally, a Journal may become locked or unavailable during processing. The following steps are to unlock a journal.
Unlocking a Blocked Journal
Navigation: General Ledger> Monitor Background Process> Journal Unlock
- From the Journal Unlock page, either leave the User ID blank to get all blocked journals for your business unit, or specify a specific person by entering their User ID.
- Select the Search button. If there are no blocked journals, the message will come back as “No matching values were found”. If left blank and there are multiple users with blocked journals, the User IDs will display below.
- Select the User ID link.
- The Journal Unlock page displays. Mark the check box and then, select the “Unlock” button.
The Journal(s) for this User ID are unlocked. Return to the Journal search page to verify or confirm the journal(s) are unlocked.
