9.2 Award Project Type Setup

Purpose:  Use this document to complete the Award Project Type setup in ctcLink.

Audience:  Finance/Grant Fiscal Staff.

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:

  • ZC Awards Processing
  • ZZ Awards Processing

If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.

This step is required set up to create the correct distributed accounting entries for revenue recognition for cost reimbursable contracts in the contract set up portion that follows.

If project type is set incorrectly, the distributed accounting information for revenue recognition will be populated with generic values. 

For SBCTC OBIS Grants, it's recommended to use Project Type 02012 for Intercollege Reimbursement.

For Capital Projects, it's recommended to use Project Type CP_LC for Locally Funded or CP_ST for State Funded projects.

Navigation: NavBar > Navigator > Grants > Awards > Project

Adding the Project Type

  1. The General Information page displays.
  2. Enter a Project Type which is the source of the revenue.  
  3. Note the Contract Number associated with the Grant/Project.
  4. Scroll down to Save the page.

It's not too late to add or modify the Project Type of an active Project.
