9.2 3C Engine - Trigger Definitions

Purpose: Use this document to manage trigger definitions in ctcLink.

Audience: Campus Solutions staff

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:

  • ZC CC 3Cs Config
  • ZD CC 3Cs Config
  • ZZ CC 3Cs Config

If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.

Trigger definition connects the event definition to the specific system action that will trigger the assignment of the 3C item.

Trigger Definitions

Navigation:  NavBar > Navigator > Campus Community > 3C Engine > Set Up 3C Engine > Trigger Definition

  1. The Trigger Definition search page displays.
  2. Select the Add a New Value tab.
  3. Enter Academic Institution.
  4. Enter Record (Table) Name.
  5. Select Trigger Action.
  6. Select Add.

To set up a new trigger, users need to select a record and an action in the system that will cause the event to occur.  (There are no current set-ups for 3Cs triggers)  Below is an example of a trigger on an event that will occur when a student is admitted to a specific program.

  1. The Trigger Definition page displays.
  2. Select Trigger Level.
  3. Select Function.
  4. Select Trigger Assignment = "System".
  5. Enter Field Level Event ID.
  6. Enter Field Conditions Field Name, Operator, and Field Value.
  7. Select the Add a New Row [+] icon to create additional Field Conditions.
  8. Select Save.
