Purpose: Use this document as an overview of Mass Packaging Solutions currently implemented in the ctcLink system

Audience: Financial Aid staff responsible for managing Packaging Plans

Solutions Currently Implemented and Coming Soon

Mass Packaging Issue #1 - Prorate WCG Based on FA Load - (PRD Release Date: 04/27/2023)

Mass Packing Issue #2 CBS for BA Degree Students - (PRD Release Date: 08/31/2023)

Issue:  Currently the CBS Setup page does not have a field to store the BAS Full time CBS Maximum amount.  The CBS equation engines take the students maximum eligible award amount and subtracts the WCG award amount, often resulting in a negative number which cannot be packaged.  FA staff must manually enter or adjust CBS for BAS students.

Solution:  Modify the custom CBS Setup page to store maximum award amounts based on degree level.  The criteria in the CBS award amount equations has been updated to determine the students program plan and refer to the associated Full Time Maximum CBS BAS award amount in set up to calculate the correct CBS BAS amount for the student.

Mass Packaging Issue #3 Prorated Loans for <9 Months - (In Progress)

Mass Packaging Issue #4 & 5 Exclude Running Start Students and Incarcerated Students - (PRD Release Date: 12/12/2023)

Issue: Running Start students are not eligible for traditional financial aid.  Incarcerated students have limited eligibility for traditional financial aid.  The current packaging selection process does not have criteria to prevent a student in either population from being packaged traditional financial aid.  As a result, staff must manually award students or cancel/adjust award offers after they are packaged, depending on eligibility.

Solution: Update the packaging plan selection equation engines to search the students Student Group record to determine if the student is active in one of the four student groups and exclude the student from selection accordingly.  Student Groups reviewed are: SRSR- Running Start, SRSL- Running Start Waiver, SDOC-Department of Corrections & R2CP-Second Chance Pell.
