9.2 Create a Milestone for Non-Course Requirements
Purpose: Use this document as a reference for how to create a milestone for non-course requirements in ctcLink
Audience: Student Services staff
You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:
- ZC SACR Milestone Config
- ZD SACR Milestone Config
- ZD SACR Student Rec Config
- ZZ SACR Milestone Config
You must also set these SACR Security permissions:
If you need assistance with the above security roles or SACR settings, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.
Create a Milestone for Non-Course Requirements
Navigation: Menu > Set Up SACR > Product Related > Student Records > Enrollment > Milestone Table
Milestones can be used to track non-course requirements for degrees and selective admission applications. Colleges have the option to incorporate these items into Academic Advisement Reports.
Examples - letters of reference, license/professional exam requirements, First Aid certification
- The Milestone Table search page displays.
- Select the Add a New Value tab.
- Enter Academic Institution.
- Enter Milestone.
- Select Add.
- The Milestone Table page displays.
- Effective Date: Use 01/01/1901 or the earliest date the Milestone can be used.
- Status: Leave as the defaulted "Active".
- Description: This value appears in Student Center if the Milestone is set up to display in self-service. Enter a desired description. (30 char. max)
- Formal Description: This value appears in Student Center if the Milestone is set up to display in self-service. Enter a desired formal description. (50 char. max)
- Calculate Required Date: Select "Do Not Calculate".
- Calculate Anticipated Date: Select "Do Not Calculate".
- Transcript Level: Select "Never Print".
- Print Milestone Detail: Select "Never Print".
- Attempts Allowed: Leave blank.
- Grading Scheme: Leave blank.
- Grading Basis: Leave blank.
- Allow Student Self-Service: Checking this box allows students to review assigned Milestone information via Student Center.
- Allow Student Attachment: Checking this box allows students to attach files to assigned Milestones via Student Center.
- Allow Advisor Self-Service: Checking this box allows advisors to review the Milestone via Advisor Center.
- Allow Advisor Attachment: Checking this box allows advisors to attach files to assigned Milestones via Advisor Center.
- Information For Students: Free-form text viewable by students if Allow Student Self-Service is checked.
- Milestone Level: This value appears in Student Center if the Milestone is set up to display in self-service (15 char. max)
- Description: This value appears in Student Center if the Milestone is set up to display in self-service. (30 char. max)
- Formal Description: This value is informational only and is not student facing. (50 char. max)
- Select the Add a New Row [+] icon to add additional levels.
- Select Save.
Milestone levels indicate the specific non-course item(s) you wish to track.
- To incorporate the Milestone into an Academic Advisement Report, refer to 9.2 Define a Dynamic Condition (Milestone) for Academic Advisement QRG.
Process complete.
