Viewing Release Quick Calc Lock

Purpose: Use this document as a reference for HCM Customer Support to use the Release Quick Calculation Lock page to delete unsuccessful payroll processes from the lock table in ctcLink.. Payroll administrators will only be able to view the information displayed on the page.

If the calculation process cannot complete successfully for some reason, the entry remains on this page and needs attention. For example, if there is an entry for Quick Calculation, it needs to be deleted before you can launch another Quick Calculation for the same parameters.

Audience:  HCM Customer Support to release the line; Payroll Administrators have view-only access to the information and will not be able to remove the line.

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:

  • ZC Payroll Data Maintenance
  • ZZ Payroll Data Maintenance

If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.

Viewing and Releasing Quick Calculation Lock

Navigation: Payroll for North America > Payroll Processing USA > Release Quick Calculation Lock

  1. The Release Quick Calculation Lock page displays.

NOTE: When a Pay Calculation or Quick Calculation is launched, the system adds an entry to a locking table in ctcLink. This entry exists throughout the calculation process in the locking table as a way to prevent another Quick Calculation for the same parameters from launching. This entry is removed automatically when the associated calculation process is completed. If the calculation process cannot complete successfully, the entry remains on this page and needs attention from HCM Customer Support. Locking table information is available on the Release Quick Calculation Lock page.

NOTE: The lock is placed at the Pay Run ID level. All the companies and pay groups associated with that Pay Run ID are locked, but only the first company and pay group is displayed on the Release Quick Calculation Lock page.

  1. When lines appear on this page, intervention is required from HCM Customer Support to release the lines. They are the only ones that have access to the Delete Row [-] icon. All other users do not have the ability to remove.
  2. Review the information on the page. Entries can come from the Quick Calculation process on the By Payline Security page and from the regular Calculate Payroll process.
  3. To release lines from the page, HCM Customer Support uses the Delect Row [-] icon on the row.
  4. After removing the line(s), select the Save button.

NOTE: When navigating to the page and no rows display, meaning Pay Calc and Quick Calc processes ran to successful completion - no lines to release, you will see the following message:

Release Quick Calculation Lock page with note, "There are no Quick Calculation Locks at this time."

The procedure to view and release the quick calculation lock page is complete.
