Mobile (HCX) - Class Search, Browse Classes and Course Catalog
Purpose: Use this document as a reference for searching for classes, browsing classes and viewing the Course Catalog on a mobile device.
Audience: Students.
The college mobile applications will look a bit different between the various colleges. This guide is intended as a general overview. Please note that your college may have different images and options available.
- On the Mobile (HCX) Dashboard, select the Class Information icon from the sidebar menu.
- The Class Information page displays.
- Select the Class Information sub-menu.
- The Class Search page displays.
- Select the More Filters button.
- Select the Search Criteria you want to use to search for a class. One or more Search Criteria can be selected. Note: Term is a required Search Criteria.
- Select the Term of Spring 2021.
- Select Surveying - SURV from the Subject drop-down list box.
- In this example, the Show Open Classes Only checkbox is selected.
- Select the Search button.
Note: Search results will appear different depending on your device and screen size. Examples are included below.
- The selected Course Information page displays.
- Find a class that you are interested in and select the Chevron (>) or the View button to view more information about the class.

- After reviewing the class information, select the Bookstore button in the Textbooks section.
- The school's Bookstore website page displays.
- After reviewing the bookstore website, close the new browser tab or window and return to Mobile (HCX) Class Search browser tab.

- The Course Information page displays.
- In the Details section, select the See Location button.
Note: You can use the + and - buttons zoom in and out to get a better feel for the location.
- The school's campus map displays indicating the location where the class will meet.
- Select the X in the upper right corner to close the map.
- The Course Information page displays.
- In the lower right corner of the Class Section page, select the Additional Actions ellipsis (three dots).
- Select the Share menu item.
- The Share Class pop-up pagelet displays.
- You are able to share the class on Social Media Networks or via email. Another option is to copy the link to share the class with friends.
- Select the X in the upper right corner to close the Share Class pop-up window.
- The Course Information page displays.
- Another way to Share a class is to select the Additional Actions ellipsis (three dots) in the upper right corner of the class section.
- Select the Share menu item.
Note: There may be additional options in the Additional Actions menu.
- That's it! You have now reviewed the Class Search function in ctcLink's Mobile (HCX).
- On the Mobile (HCX) Dashboard, select the Class Information icon from the sidebar menu.
- The Class Information page displays.
- Select Browse Classes from the Class Information sub-menu.
- The Browse Classes page displays.
- Select applicable Search Criteria to narrow your search.
- Start by selecting the Term (required field) you are interested in browsing. In this example, we will select Spring 2021.
- Next, select a Subject. In this example, we will select Automotive Technology.
- Select the Search button.
- To further refine your search, you can enter one or more words in the Search box. In this example, we entered "Toyota". The Automotive Technology classes with Toyota in the title displays.
- Find a class that you want to view and select the View Sections button.
Note: When entering words in the Search box, the list of classes will narrow as you type. No need to select the Search button again.
Note: The search results may appear different depending on the device you are using and your screen size. Examples are included below.
- Find a section that you want to view and select the Chevron (>) or the View button to view more information about the class. In this example, we will select the LAB.
- After reviewing the class information, select the Bookstore button in the Textbooks section.
Note: The website may look different depending on your device and browser.
- A new browser tab or window displays the school's bookstore website.
- After reviewing the bookstore website, close the new browser tab or window and return to Mobile (HCX) Browse Classes page.

- The Course Information page displays.
- In the Details section, select the See Location button.
Note: You can use the + and - buttons zoom in and out to get a better feel for the location.
- The school's campus map displays indicating the location where the class will meet.
- Select the X in the upper right corner to close the map.
- The Course Information page displays.
- In the lower right corner of the Class Section page, select the Additional Actions ellipsis (three dots).
- Select the Share menu item.
- The Share Class pop-up window displays.
- You are able to share the class on Social Media Networks or via email. Another option is to copy the link to share the class with friends.
- Select the X in the upper right corner to close the Share Class pop-up window.
- The Browse Classes page displays for the selected Term.
- Another way to Share a class is to select the Additional Actions ellipsis (three dots) in the upper right corner of the class section.
- Select the Share menu item.
Note: There may be additional options in the Additional Actions menu.
- That's it! You have now reviewed the Browse Classes function in ctcLink's Mobile (HCX).
- On the Mobile (HCX) Dashboard, select the Class Information icon from the sidebar menu.
- The Class Information menu expands.
- Select Course Catalog from the Class Information sub-menu.
- The Course Catalog page displays.
- Select filters to narrow your results. In this example, we will select Undergraduate from the Career drop-down listbox.
- Next, select a Subject to browse. In this example, we will select the View Courses button for SURV - Surveying - SURV.
- The courses in that subject area displays.
- Find a class that you want to view and select the Chevron (>) to view the course details. In this example, we will select SURV 163 - Route Surveying.
- Next, select the View Sections button.
Note: A View Sections button will only display if there are sections available for the course.
- The sections available for this course displays.
- Select the Term (required field).
- The sections available for that term displays. In this example, we will select SPRING 2021.
- Find a section that you want to view and select the Chevron (>) or the View button to view more information. In this example, we will select the H01M-LAB (2803).

- After reviewing the class information, select the Bookstore button in the Textbooks section.
- A new browser tab or window displays the school's bookstore website.
- After reviewing the bookstore website, close the new browser tab or window and return to Mobile (HCX) Course Catalog page.

- The selected class displays.
- In the Details section, select the See Location button.
