User Profiles - Assigning Primary Email Address

Purpose: Use this document to assign an email address in ctcLink.

Audience: ERP Support & Institutional Security

NOTE:  If you have received a message that states “An exception was generated by the system” to your personal email address, follow the navigation below to assign a different email address.

Assigning Primary Email Address

Navigation: PeopleTools > Security > User Profiles > Distributed User Profiles

  1. The Distributed User Profile search page displays.
  2. Enter User ID and select Search.
  3. The General page displays.
  4. Select Edit Email Addresses.
  5. The Email Addresses page displays.
  6. Check Primary Email Account box.
  7. Enter Email Type.
  8. Enter primary Email Address (Institution email address).
  9. Select OK.
  10. The process may return an error message if the system is unable to validate the email address. Select OK to close the message.
  11. The Email Addresses page disappears.
  12. Correct any issues by clicking on the Edit Email Addresses link again.
  13. If the email address correctly validated, select Save to complete the process.
