Viewing Menu Item Detail
Purpose: Use this document as a reference for Viewing Menu Item Detail in ctcLink. The following steps will assist in finding roles associated with a component/page.
Audience: Local Security Administrators
Viewing Menu Item Detail
Follow the navigation path to where the error is occurring. In this example, we're viewing the Invoice & Payment Details Inquiry.
Navigation: Grants > Grants Portal > Transaction Inquiries > GM Portal Invoice & Payments
- The Invoice & Payment Details Inquiry page displays.
- Press CTRL+J. If nothing happened, then use Shift+CTRL+J which should be supported by your browser.
- The Menu Item Detail window displays.
- Make note of the Component name.
- Select the continue link.
- The Invoice & Payment Details Inquiry page displays.
- Select the New Window link to start the next process.
Navigation: PeopleTools > Portal > View Menu Item Detail
- The Menu Item Detail search page displays.
- In the begins with field, enter a percent sign, then enter the Component name you made note of in the prior process, then enter another percent sign (EX: %GM_PT_INV_INQ%).
- Select the Search button.
- The Search Results list displays.
- Select the Portal Object Name from the Search Results list.
- The Menu Item Detail page displays:
- Accessible Permissions,
- Accessible Roles,
- and Accessible Users.
- Use this information to troubleshoot the user's issue.
This completes the process of viewing menu item details.
