Okta - Resetting Your ctcLink Password/Unlock Account

Purpose: Use this document as a reference for resetting your password or unlocking your account in ctcLink.

Audience: College Faculty, Staff and Students.

If you experience any issues with sign on credentials, user names, passwords or student ID numbers, please contact your college Help Desk and/or college Advisor.

Note: Ensure that pop-up blockers are disabled in your browser.

Note: Both phone number fields are not required fields during the account activation process.

  1. Navigate to the myaccount Sign-In page (https://gateway.ctclink.us or https://myaccount.ctclink.us).
  2. The ctcLink ID input field is available.
  3. Two additional links display at the bottom of the Sign In box.
    1. Unlock Account
    2. Help
  4. Enter your ctcLink ID and then select the Next button.
  5. Two additional links display under the Password entry field.
    1. Reset Password
    2. Back to sign in
  6. Select the Reset Password link at the bottom of the Verify with your password box.

  1. Once you select the Reset Password link, the Reset your password box will display. Select which method - Email or Phone - you would like to use to reset your password.

Note: E-mail and Phone can only be used if you provided and validated them when you set up your account.

  1. Next to the Email option, click Select.
  2. The Get a verification email box will display. Select the dark blue Send me an email button.
  3. A notification displays: "We sent you a verification email. Click the verification link in your email to continue or enter the code below."
  4. An email with "Account Password Reset" in the subject line will instruct you to select the Reset Password link that is embedded within the email message. The link expires in 15 minutes.
  5. Your verification code page displays. The code provided should be entered on the Password Reset page.
  6. Select the Enter a verification code instead link.
  7. Input code and select the dark blue Verify button.
  8. The Reset your password page displays with listed password requirements.
  9. Enter your new password into the New password field.
  10. Enter your new password again into the Re-enter password field.
  11. Select the dark blue Reset Password button.

  1. Next to the Phone option, click on Select.
  2. In the Verify with your phone box, there are two options:
    1. Receive a code via SMS
    2. Receive a voice call instead

  1. Select the Receive a code via SMS button.
  2. The code is sent to your phone. Enter the code then select the Verify button.
  3. The Reset your ctcLink password page displays with listed password requirements.
  4. Enter your new password into the New password field.
  5. Enter your new password again into the Re-enter password field.
  6. Select the dark blue Reset Password button.

  1. Select the dark blue Reset via Voice Call button.
  2. The voice call will provide the code, repeating it twice.
  3. Once you receive the verification code, enter it into the Enter Code field and select the Verify button.
  4. The Reset your password page displays with listed password requirements.
  5. Enter your new password into the New password field.
  6. Enter your new password again into the Re-enter password field.
  7. Select the dark blue Reset Password button.

  1. Navigate to the myaccount Sign-In page (https://gateway.ctclink.us or https://myaccount.ctclink.us).
  2. Select the Unlock Account link from the main sign-in page.
  3. The Authenticate box will display. Enter your ctcLink ID and then select the Next button.
  4. The Unlock Account box will display. Select which method - Email or Phone - you would like to use to unlock your account.

Note: E-mail and Phone can only be used if you provided and validated them when you set up your account.

  1. Next to the Email option, click Select.
  2. The Get a verification email box will display. Select the dark blue Send me an email button.
  3. A notification displays: "We sent you a verification email. Click the verification link in your email to continue or enter the code below."
  4. An email with "Okta Unlock Account" in the subject line will provide instructions:
    1. Account is not locked: The email will state that the account is not locked and if you are having trouble logging in, try resetting your password or contact the helpdesk.
    2. Account is locked: The email will instruct you to select the Unlock Account link that is embedded within the email message. The link expires in 15 minutes.
  5. Your verification code page displays. The code provided should be entered on the Verify with your email page. Select the Enter a verification code instead link.
  6. Enter code and select the dark blue Verify button.
  7. The account will be unlocked.
