Reversing a Supervisor ID Mass Update

Purpose:  Use this document as a reference to reverse a change made to the Supervisor ID in Job Data, from one Empl ID to another for a group of employees in ctcLink.

Audience:  Human Resource Specialists and/or Human Resource Administrators.

You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:

  • ZC HR Employee Maintenance
  • ZZ HR Employee Maintenance

If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.

IMPORTANT: This process is ONLY to be run after the process for Creating a Supervisor ID Mass Update has been run.

All data entries for this process must be identical to the data entries used for the original Supervisor ID Mass Update that is being removed (i.e. Company, Effective Date, Action, Reason, Empl ID, etc).

Reversing a Supervisor ID Mass Update

Navigation:  Workforce Administration > CTC Custom > CTC Processes > Reverse Supervisor ID Mass Upd 

  1. The Reverse Supervisor ID Mass Upd run control search page displays.
  2. Select the Add New Value tab. (This step is strictly for the first run; after that you may use this new run control).
  3. Create a Run Control ID (something unique and easy to remember).
  4. Select the Add button.
  5. The Reverse Supervisor ID Mass Update page displays.  Select the appropriate Company.
  6. Enter/Select the Effective Date for the Job Data Insert.
  7. Select the appropriate Action for the Job Data Record.
  8. Select the appropriate Reason (optional but highly recommended).
  9. Enter/Select the appropriate To Supervisor ID. (Note: this will actually be the Empl ID entered in the "From Supervisor ID" field on the original request).
  10. Select the appropriate Department (if applicable).
  11. Select Run, to activate the process request.
  12. The Process Scheduler Request pagelet displays. Select the OK button.
  13. The Reverse Supervisor ID Mass Update page is displayed.
  14. Make note of the Process Instance number.
  15. Select the Process Monitor link to view the progress of the request.
  16. The Process Monitor page displays.
  17. From the Process List tab, select the Refresh button periodically until the Run Status changes to Success and the Distribution Status changes to Posted.
  18. Select the Go back to Reverse Supervisor ID Mass Upd link.
  19. The Reverse Supervisory ID Mass Update page displays.
  20. Select the Report Manager link.
  21. The Report Manager page is displayed.
  22. From the List tab, select the  CTC_XSUPV_AE report link.
  23. The Report page displays.
  24. Select the REVERSAL_SUPERVISOR_MASS_UPDATE link to view the actual results.
  25. A separate window will open containing the results.  It is good practice to save or print these results for validation.
  26. Save the report (PDF file).
  27. Select an employee on the report.
  28. Navigate to Job Data to validate the update.

End of procedure.

NOTE: You should ALWAYS VALIDATE your data at the end of this process. Select a few individuals from the results list to validate in Job Data.  (Navigation: NavBar > Navigator >  Workforce Administration > Job Information > Job Data)
