Class Search (HCX)

This Quick Reference Guide reflects future updates that will be implemented on 10/11/2025.

Purpose: Use this document as a reference for searching for classes on a mobile device.

Audience: Students.

The college mobile applications will look a bit different between the various colleges. This guide is intended as a general overview. Please note that your college may have different images and options available.  

  1. On the Mobile (HCX) Springboard page, select the Class Search tile to access the public class search.
  2. Alternatively, if you would like to login first, select the ctcLink Login tile.
  3. The ctcLink Login page displays.
  4. Enter your ctcLink ID.
  5. Enter your Password.
  6. Select the Sign In button. The Okta Account section of the ctcLink Reference Center provides helpful information on accessing your ctcLink account.

Search for a Class

  1. On the Class Search page, select the More Filters button.
    • The list of available search criteria displays.
  2. Select one or more Search Criteria.
    • Term is required.
  3. Select a Subject from the Subject sub-menu.
  4. (Optional) Select Show Open Classes Only.
  5. Select the Search button.
  6. (Optional) To collapse the filter panel, select the Less Filters button.

Review Search Results

  1. A list of classes matching your search displays.
  2. Layout may vary by device and screen size (wide vs. narrow).
  3. To see more information about a class, select the chevron (>) icon.

Class Information Options

View Textbooks

  1. View Textbooks
  2. In the Textbooks section, select the Bookstore button.
  3. A new browser tab/window opens to the college bookstore website.
  4. Review required textbooks.
  5. Close the bookstore tab/window to return to HCX.

View Location

  1. On the Course Information page, select the See Location button in the Details section.
  2. A campus map displays showing the classroom location.
    • Use the + / - buttons to zoom.
  3. Select the X in the upper right corner to close the map.

Share a Class

  1. On the Course Information page.
  2. Select the Share button at the bottom of the course information page.
    • The Share Class pop-up displays.
    • Options include:
      • Share via social media
      • Share via email
      • Copy link to share
  3. Select the X in the upper right corner to close the pop-up.

Alternative Method:

  • Use the Additional Actions (⋮) in the upper right corner of the class section, then select Share.
  • Depending on the configuration, additional menu options may be available.
