Build Courses to Use Dynamic Dating

Purpose: Use this document as a reference for how to configure Courses to use dynamic dating in ctcLink.

Audience: Student Services staff.

You must have at least one of these local college-managed security roles:

Adding Dynamic Dating at the Course Level

  • ZC CM Course Catalog
  • ZD CM Course Catalog
  • ZD CM Course and Class Inquiry
  • ZD CM Local Configuration
  • ZD FWL View Cnt Calc
  • ZZ CM Course Catalog
  • ZZ CM Local Configuration
  • ZZ FWL Contract Calc

Build a Dynamic Dated Class

  • ZC CM Class Builder
  • ZD CM Class Builder
  • ZZ CM Local Configuration

If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.

You must also set the following SACR Security permission:

Add Dynamic Dating at the Course Level

Navigation: Curriculum Management > Course Catalog > Course Catalog

  1. The Course Catalog search page displays.  Use the default Find an Existing Value page to locate your course.
  2. Enter or look up the Academic Institution by selecting the looking glass.
  3. Enter or look up the Subject Area.
  4. Enter or look up the Catalog Nbr.
  5. Enter or look up the Course ID.
  6. Select Search.
  7. The Search Results display.
  8. Choose the appropriate option.

Catalog Data Tab

  1. The Catalog Data page displays.
  2. Select Correct History (bottom-right of the page).
  3. Select the Offerings tab.

Offerings Tab

  1. Look up or enter "DYN" in the Dynamic Class Date Rule.
  2. Select Save.

Build a Dynamic Dated Class

Navigation: Curriculum Management > Schedule of Classes > Schedule New Course

  1. The Schedule New Course search page displays.
  2. Enter or look up the Academic Institution.
  3. Enter or look up the Term.
  4. Enter or look up the Subject Area.
  5. Enter or look up the Catalog Nbr.
  6. Select the Academic Career from the drop-down menu.
  7. Select Search.

Basic Data Tab

  1. The Basic Data page displays.
  2. When building the class, enter or look up "DYN" in *Session.
  3. Enter the class *Start/End Date.
  4. Select Meetings.

Meetings Tab

  1. The Meetings page displays.
  2. Adjust the *Start/End Date to match the intended Dynamic Dates from the Basic Data page.
  3. Complete the class build. For more information, refer to the Schedule New Classes QRG.
  4. Select Save.
  5. Run the Dynamic Date process in batch or by individual class. For more information, refer to the following QRGs:
  6. Process complete
