Add Student Permanent Address (SEVIS)
Purpose: Use this document as a reference for adding additional address types in ctcLink.
Audience: College staff responsible for maintaining student SEVIS information.
You must have at least one of these local college-managed security roles:
- ZC CC SOGI
- ZC CS SEVIS
- ZD CC SOGI
- ZD CS SEVIS
- ZZ CC SOGI
- ZZ CS SEVIS
If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.
You must also set these SACR Security permissions:
- A person record must exist for the individual receiving the address modification in order to proceed with this process. See QRG: Adding Applications Manually without a Fee.
- A permanent address must be a foreign address outside the United States to proceed with this process.
Add/Update a Person
Navigation: Campus Community > SEVIS > Personal Information > Add/Update a Person
- Navigate to Add/Update a Person.
- On the Search page:
- Enter search criteria to identify the student.
- Select Include History.
- Click Search.
Access the Addresses Tab
- The Add/Update a Person page displays.
- Select the Addresses tab.
- The student’s Current Addresses are listed at the top of the page.
- There are two options for adding a new permanent address:
- Option 1: The permanent address matches a current address listed for the student, or
- Option 2: The permanent address does not match a current address listed for the student.
- Under Current Addresses, select the Address Type that matches the permanent address.
- The selected address type will appear under Add Address.
- In the Add Address Types section:
- Select Permanent.
- Click Submit.
- Verify:
- The Permanent address now appears under Current Addresses.
- The Submit button is grayed out.
- A checkmark displays next to Permanent under Add Address Types.
- Scroll to the bottom and click Save.
- Process complete.
- In the Add Address section:
- Select the Country using the lookup tool.
- Click Edit Address.
- The Edit Address page displays.
- Confirm the country is listed at the top of the page.
- Enter the address fields as completely as possible.
- Required fields: Country and Address 1.
- Troubleshooting:
- If unable to save, verify the accuracy of the entered data.
- If errors persist, select Change Country and reselect the country before clicking OK.
- For England, select GBR (United Kingdom) to open the address fields.
- PeopleSoft delivers country-specific address formats. Use the Foreign Address Field Label Crosswalk to guide data entry.

- After completing the address:
- Select OK.
- In the Add Address Types section, select Permanent.
- Click Submit.
- Verify:
- The Permanent address now appears under Current Addresses.
- The Submit button is grayed out.
- A checkmark displays next to Permanent under Add Address Types.
- Scroll to the bottom and click Save.
- Process complete.
