9.2 Entering Service Indicator Data
Purpose: Use this document as a reference for entering service indicator data in ctcLink.
Audience: College staff responsible for maintaining student information.
You must have at least one of these local college managed security roles:
- ZD CC Service Indicate Student
- ZZ CC Service Indicate Student
- ZD CC Service Indicators
- ZD CC Super user
- ZZ CC Service Indicators
If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.
Service indicators can be assigned to student accounts to restrict enrollment or other services until fines are paid, or other required actions are taken.
Access to the pages used is limited and assigned by the local ctcLink security administrator.
Users who have been granted the role ZZ CC Service Indicate Student would be given access to "placement" and "release" of Service Indicators but cannot perform that work until they have been granted SACR Security to the relevant Service Indicator codes.
Service Indicators (SIs) and their impacts are institution-specific. Suppose a student has a Service Indicator blocking enrollment; it only affects their activity at that institution.
Entering Service Indicator Data
Navigation: NavBar > Navigator > Campus Community > Service Indicators > Person > Manage Service Indicators

- The Manage Service Indicators search page displays.
- Enter Search Criteria to identify your student.
- Select Search.

- The Manage Service Indicators page displays.
- Select Effect = "All", "Negative" or "Positive" to filter the type of service indicators that are displayed.
- Enter Institution.
- Select Add Service Indicator.

- The Add Service Indicator page displays.
- Enter Institution.
- Enter Service Indicator Code.
- Enter Reason.
- Enter Start Term.
- Enter Start Date.
- Enter End Term (optional).
- Enter End Date (optional).
- Enter Department. This defaults from the service indicator setup table.
- Enter Reference. This defaults from the service indicator setup table.
- Enter Amount (optional), if the student owes a required fee.
- Enter Contact ID. This will link to the user information that displays for the student, if there is a specific staff member the student should contact.
- Enter Contact Person. Whom should the student contact? This person may or may not have an associated staff ID in the ctcLink.
- Enter Placed Person ID: This default to the person who added the service indicator code to the student.
- Enter Comments. These are staff-visible, not student-visible.
- Select Apply.
- Select OK. You are returned to the Manage Service Indicators page.

Navigation: NavBar > Navigator > Campus Community > Service Indicators > Person > Manage Service Indicators
Navigation: NavBar > Navigator > Campus Community > Service Indicators (Student) > Manage Service Indicators
- The Manage Service Indicators search page displays.
- Enter Search Criteria to identify your student.
- Select Search.

- The Manage Service Indicators page displays.
- Select the Institution from the drop-down list, then select Refresh link to the right of the menu.
- Select the Code of the service indicator you wish to view or edit.

- The Edit Service Indicator page displays.
- After making any changes, select OK to save the changes and return to the Manage Service Indicators page; or, select Apply to activate the service indicator and remain on the same page.

- The Manage Service Indicators search page displays.
- Enter Search Criteria to identify your student.
- Select Search.

- The Manage Service Indicators page displays.
- Select the Institution from the drop-down list, then select Refresh link to the right of the menu.
- Select the Code of the service indicator you wish to view or edit.

- The Edit Service Indicator page displays.
- Select Release.

- A confirmation page displays.
- Select OK.

Please note: to view comments after the service indicator has been released you would need to use the Audit Service Indicators page.
