View and Edit Degree Data
Purpose: Use this guide to view or edit student degree details. Most data on the Student Degrees page is populated from the Student Program/Plan page when a degree is awarded.
Audience: Student Records staff.
You must have at least one of these local college-managed security roles:
- ZD SR Graduation Inquiry
- ZD SR Super User
- ZZ SR Graduation
If you need assistance with the above security roles, please contact your local college supervisor or IT Admin to request role access.

To view the original Program/Plan data, navigate to the Student Program/Plan page:
Navigation: Records and Enrollment > Career and Program Information > Student Program/Plan
- The Student Degrees search page displays.
- Enter search criteria to locate your student (e.g., ID or name).
- Select Search.
- The Degree tab displays.
- Review the information that defaulted from the Program/Plan page when the degree was awarded.
- Make edits if necessary. ⚠️ Note: Changes made on this page do not update the Program/Plan page. If the degree needs to be removed, refer to the Revoking a Degree process.
- Select the Degree Plan tab.
- The tab displays default information based on the Plan Code from the Program/Plan page. ⚠️On each effective-dated row of a Student Program/Plan, we recommend that students have no more than one Academic Plan. Why? From our assessment, at this time, this is a best practice that simplifies credential awarding, supports current reporting configurations, guards against potential downstream processing issues, and reduces the manual work required of college staff as it relates to FA awarding.
- Edit as needed:
- To change the Transcript Description or Diploma Description, select the Override checkbox to enable editing.
- If the student has an assigned Sub-Plan, it will display. This data is also pulled from the Program/Plan page.
- Select Save to confirm any changes.
- Process complete.
